Unzicker lands top-10 with MARS Championship Series at Tri-City

Ryan Unzicker was back behind the wheel of his RJR Transportation No. 24 Late Model on Friday afternoon at Tri-City Speedway (Granite City, Ill.) for the MARS Championship Series-sanctioned Gary Gerstner Memorial.

With a fourth-place run in his heat pinning him on the fifth row for the opener, Unzicker jumped up one spot to register a ninth-place finish.

For another $5,000-to-win MARS Championship Series event on Saturday at Highland Speedway (Highland, Ill.), Ryan rallied to 14th in the 40-lap feature after pitting during a lap 27 caution.

Ryan remains second in the latest MARS Championship Series point standings.
