Podium finishes at Quincy and Highland
Ryan Unzicker’s pursuit of the MARS Late Model Championship Series title continued over the weekend with a doubleheader in his home state of Illinois.
Kicking things off Friday at Quincy Raceway, Unzicker secured a spot in the main event with a third-place finish in his heat. Rolling off ninth in the feature, he charged through the field to claim a runner-up finish.
On Saturday at Highland Speedway, where another $5,000 payday was on the line, Unzicker followed a second-place heat effort with an impressive drive from eighth to third in the 40-lap A-Main. He shared the podium with race winner Shannon Babb and runner-up Tony Jackson Jr.
Ryan remains in third in the latest MARS point standings.
